Angry Birds Round 2
Today I did:
100 overhead squats = Level 6!
40 knee push ups = Level 1 still, but took less sets to do it. (WHY do I have such shrimpy arms)
30 arms rows = Level 1 again, but I did much heavier weights.
and 3 minutes plank = Level 3!
I went up 1 level in squats and plank, and made my level 1’s better.
Awesome. :)

The Lulu Wishlist.
My little “rule” to keep my spending in check right now is I can’t buy ANY CLOTHES WHATSOEVER. Except athletic clothes. :)
Which basically means I’m just gonna spend all my money on lululemon.
But if you love me, you would order these and have them shipped to my house, so I can save my money!

Copious Amounts of Peanut Brittle
Do not make for a happy stomach. And my mouth feels all sorts of tingly and yucky.
Lesson learned.
Now where can I find me some vegetables?!

The Angry Birds Workout →
I love a good blog. I’m constantly discovering and reading to the very beginning of new blogs it seems every week. My latest obsession is Nerd Fitness; the guy who runs it is pretty much a tank, and has great training advice. I’ve now got strength training to do every other night, so I started the Angry Birds workout that he put together and I quite enjoy it, It’s short, fast,...

I ran 4k tonight
Plus 1 more, just for funzies. In the rain. I also squared away all of my training for the next two months, which now includes regular strength and yoga/stretch workouts in addition to half-marathon training, every day. Who am I turning into and what has she done with Lisa?!
In other news, I’m going to the city tomorrow and blowing all my hard-earned cash on pretty much an entire wardrobe...

The pursuit of happiness is the source of all unhappiness.
– lululemon manifesto
If you’ve been paying attention, I’ve been posting a quote from the lululemon manifesto every day or so. Today is the last day, and it took me a while to really believe in this quote (aka, up until yesterday). I’ve heard it so many times and never really...

Why I'm phasing out dairy & eggs →
I’m not a huge fan of dairy products (cheesecake, YES PLEASE, but I make a vegan version of it anyways :)) and a lot of the claims in this article outline pretty much why I avoid them.
I couldn’t help but laugh/be slightly grossed out at “chicken periods” hahaha.

I'm not going to be a fair-weathered athlete!
Let’s just start off with I ran 9.4 k yesterday morning and it was AWESOME. Of course, now it’s more than a day later and I’m remembering the fact that I ran longer than my training goal and not the fact that I wanted to puke and/or faint and/or die for like the last half of it. But that’s besides the point.
I had lofty goals as I was drifting off to sleep last night about...

How to Burn Fat Instead of Sugar →
I’m on a No Meat Athlete kick this week.
This article really made sense to me in respect to endurance athletics. Use a slow-burning fuel to keep you going longer instead of constant energy spikes and drops.
